Just Wing It.

Déjà Vu Café was already a Moose Jaw institution. We built the website and online ordering — and for a few years, ran the social feed that kept the whole thing buzzing.

The diner everyone already knew

Some places you have to explain. Déjà Vu Café isn't one of them. In Moose Jaw it's an institution — award-winning, always busy, the wings everybody has an opinion about.

When a business is already that loved, our job isn't to reinvent it. It's to make sure the website does it justice.

What was missing

Déjà Vu had the food, the regulars, and the reputation. What it didn't have was a digital home to match — a site that was easy to keep current, easy to order from, and that actually sounded like the place sounds.

What we built

We worked from the brand they already had — even gave the cheeky detective logo a light refresh so it held up on screen as well as it does on the sign out front — and wrote the site in their own voice, right down to the line they're known for: Just Wing It.

Then we wired in online ordering, so a craving could turn into an order without picking up the phone.

Then 2020 happened

Then the dining room closed. For a lot of restaurants, that was the end of the story. For Déjà Vu, the online ordering we'd already built quietly became the lifeline — delivery orders roughly doubled, and the kitchen kept right on cooking.

We were running their social feed in those days, too — so when they turned it outward, we got to help tell the story: free lunches delivered to the operating-room nurses at Wigmore Hospital, posted to a few hundred neighbours cheering them on. A good business doing good, with the tools — and the audience — to actually pull it off.

Why the site mattered

More than the website

The site was the centrepiece, but it wasn't the whole job. We refreshed the logo, ran the social feed through 2022, and kept things looking consistent everywhere a customer might bump into them — all built on the bold purple, green and gold Déjà Vu already owned.

Still serving

Years on, we still look after the site — the small fixes, the new menu items, the seasonal updates. The quiet upkeep that keeps a good thing online and out of the way.

That's how we like to work: not a site we hand over and forget, but one that keeps doing its job while you do yours.
